Overcoming Imposter Syndrome
Imposter syndrome is a phenomenon afflicting high-achieving individuals in which they are constantly plagued by the idea that they will be exposed as a fraud. Every mistake, misstep and experience of not-knowing is interpreted as evidence of this fraudulence. The need to prove oneself can be immense, which reinforces a central component of imposter syndrome—overworking—and can result in burnout, lack of balance, and a constant sense of vulnerability. In this session, Lisa Orbé-Austin, psychologist, executive coach and author, will identify the central characteristics of imposter syndrome so that you can work to dismantle it in yourself, your team and your organisational culture.
